Our Work
While PROJECT 1 was taking place in South Africa, we organised a workshop at a local school to teach the kids how to build a shelter for the homeless.
The children were asked to collect plastic bottles and bags from their houses and bring to class. Before we started building the structure we explained to the kids three main points:
1. What the project is about
2. Why we started this project
3. How important it is to take initiative and help other people and the environment

It is important to bring awareness to the young generation since they are the ones who will be leading the future of our planet!

Our first Project took place in Johannesburg, South Africa for the period of three months (from October to December 2017).
We visited an impoverished community in Innesfree Park, in the very wealthy area of Sandton. We interviewed some of the people in order to collect as much information as possible, not only about their housing issues, but also the bottling-recycling system.

From Trash, to House
The workshop 'From Trash, to House' took place at the Agora Project
in the old town of Nicosia in collaboration with Tesura Cyprus.
We invited people to come and join us for a 5-day workshop and learn how to build shelters with the bottle-weaving technique. The workshop stood as an opportunity to emphasize the fact that homelessness in Cyprus is increasing and we must act on it before it is too late.

We completed a small shelter and re-used 926 plastic bottles!
The roof was constructed a bit differently. We weaved the bottles vertically following a horizontal grid. The result is a 'floating roof' made out of plastic bottles!
